Research Objectives

The primary objective of this research is to explore the role of Buddhist mindfulness practices in promoting inner transformation and holistic well-being within contemporary society. The study seeks to examine how the teachings of the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta can be understood, interpreted, and applied in modern contexts beyond traditional religious practice.

The specific objectives of this research are as follows:

  1. To examine the fundamental principles of mindfulness presented in the Mahāsatipaṭṭhāna Sutta and related Buddhist teachings.
  2. To investigate the relationship between mindfulness practice and personal transformation, including emotional awareness, ethical development, and self-understanding.
  3. To analyze the contemporary interpretation and application of mindfulness in areas such as psychology, education, healthcare, and daily life.
  4. To explore how Buddhist concepts such as impermanence (anicca), non-attachment, compassion, and interdependence contribute to inner development and human well-being.
  5. To compare traditional Buddhist perspectives on mindfulness with modern secular approaches to mindfulness practice.
  6. To collect and analyze qualitative data from participants, interviews, and related sources in order to understand lived experiences associated with mindfulness and contemplative practice.
